Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur forms the desert triangle in the state of Rajasthan Bikaner was founded in the year 1488 by Rao bika, a descendant of Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur. It covers an area of 38.10 square km. Bikaner is famous with another name 'Camel Country' and the city is famous for the camels found in the word Bikaner is a fortified city with the forts dating back tot the 15th century. The city is surrounded by high fortifications with seven-kilometers long wall, which encircles the old city and has five entrances.
