Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum

Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum ist ein städtisches Düsseldorfer Institut, das gleichzeitig die Aufgaben eines Zoos und eines naturkundlichen Museums erfüllt. Es wurde im Jahr 1987 im Nordpark der Stadt unter dem Namen Löbbecke Museum Aquazoo eröffnet. Auf einer Fläche von 6800 m² werden rund 475 Tierarten ausgestellt. Hinzu kommen weitere naturkundliche Exponate des Museums. Während des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurde im November 1944 der dem Zoo naheliegende Unterrather Güterbahnhof schwer bombardiert, wobei eine große Anzahl von Bomben durch Winddrift oder schlechtes Zielen im Zoo selbst einschlugen und diesen weitgehend zerstörte. Die meisten Ausstellungsstücke waren jedoch vorher evakuiert worden, denn auch das Museumsgebäude erlitt schwere Schäden. Nachdem die Einrichtung Aquarium/Museum nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.

Hofgarten

Der Hofgarten ist der zentrale Park in Düsseldorf. Er liegt in der Innenstadt in den Stadtteilen Stadtmitte und Pempelfort und hat eine Gesamtfläche von 27,73 ha, davon sind 13 ha Wiesenflächen. Die Parkfläche erstreckt sich von der Jacobistraße mit Schloss Jägerhof und dem angrenzenden Malkasten Gelände bis zur Heinrich Heine Allee an der Altstadt und von der Königsallee bis zum Ehrenhof am Rheinufer. Zahlreiche historische Denkmäler und moderne Skulpturen beleben den Park, der gestalterisch den Übergang vom barocken Gartenstil zum Englischen Landschaftsgarten markiert. Der älteste Teil des öffentlichen Hofgartens wurde bereits 1769 angelegt. Damit ist der Düsseldorfer Hofgarten Deutschlands erster und ältester Volksgarten.

Königsallee

The Königsallee is an urban boulevard in Düsseldorf, state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Königsallee is noted for both the landscaped canal that runs along its center, as well as for the fashion showrooms and luxury retail stores located along its sides. Nicknamed Kö by the locals, the Königsallee is by far Germany's busiest, upscale shopping street. The canal which runs through the center of the boulevard is 31 metres wide and up to 5 metres deep. The canal is fed by the Düssel, which was diverted to provide the nececessary water. Two iron bridges cross the canal. On the suggestion of the landscape architect, Chestnut trees were planted along the canal and the boulevard was therefore given the name Kastanienallee accordingly.

Kaiserswerth

Kaiserswerth is one of the oldest parts of the City of Düsseldorf. It is in the north of the city and next to the river Rhine. It houses the Deaconess's Institute of Kaiserswerth where Florence Nightingale studied. The Kaiserpfalz was built in 1045. In 1062, the archbishop of Cologne, Anno II, kidnapped the underage German King Heinrich IV from here and in this way obtained the unofficial regency of the Holy Roman Empire. At this time the island's name changed from Werth to Kaiserswerth. In 1174, Friederick I Barbarossa moved the Rhine customs collection to Kaiserswerth. The eastern branch of the Rhine around the island silted up connecting Kaiserswerth to the east bank of the river. In 1273, the emperor pledged Kaiserswerth to the Archbishop of Cologne forming a de facto enclave within the Duchy of Jülich Berg. In 1591, Friedrich Spee von Langenfeld was born in Kaiserswerth.

Südpark Düsseldorf

Der Südpark ist mit 70 Hektar Fläche die größte Parkanlage der nordrhein westfälischen Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf. Er entstand zur Bundesgartenschau 1987 durch Erweiterung des vorhandenen Volksgartens um neue auf vormaligem Brachland angelegte Parkanlagen. Dort befindet sich auch die Veranstaltungsstätte Mitsubishi Electric-Halle, ehemals Philipshalle. Südlich begrenzt die hier im Trog verlaufende Bundesautobahn 46 die Parkfläche. Im Westen grenzt der Südpark unmittelbar an den Stoffeler Friedhof. Dahinter liegt der Stadtteil Bilk. Der so entstandene Südpark besteht aus drei unterschiedlich gestalteten Bereichen.
