Yosemite is a famouse for Yosemite National Park. Words can scarcely describe the wonders of Yosemite. And even if it were possible, it wouldn't compare to the experience of being there. The beauty of the region is austere and majestic, which accounts for its universal appeal. Millions of visitors visit each year to marvel at this 1,200 square-mile paradise. Yosemite combines many amazing natural features. Park elevations vary between 2,000 and 13,000 feet above sea level. The steep-walled Yosemite Valley is a postcard perfect vista, with striking waterfalls and the magnificent Merced River winding through the valley floor. At 8,800 feet you'll find Tuolumne Meadows, popular in the winter for mountaineering. In the summer, backpackers and day hikers enjoy the challenge of the trek. And, of course, there's no forgetting El Capitan and Half-Dome, two of the world's most famous rock formations.

Tourist Attraction in or Near by Yosemite
CYosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is a United States National Park spanning eastern portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in the central eastern portion of California, United States. Reaches across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain chain. Over 3.7 million people visit Yosemite each year most spend their time in the seven square miles (18 km2) of Yosemite Valley. Yosemite is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in the Sierra Nevada, and the park supports a diversity of plants and animals. The geology of the Yosemite area is characterized by granitic rocks and remnants of older rock. About 10 million years ago, the Sierra Nevada was uplifted and then tilted to form its relatively gentle western slopes and the more dramatic eastern slopes.
The Mist Trail
Along the trail, the Merced River is a tumultuous mountain stream, lying in a U-shaped valley. Enormous boulders, some the size of a house, are dwarfed by the sheer faces of exfoliating granite, which rise 3000 feet (914 m) from the river. Through it all, the Merced river rushes down from its source in the High Sierra, and broadens on the floor of Yosemite Valley. the Mist Trail has fabulous views scattered all along it, beginning at the bridge overlook, progressing to two unforgettable waterfalls that fall a combined total of more than 900 feet, and ending with perhaps the most striking of all: the view of Nevada Fall, Liberty Cap, and the back of Half Dome from the Muir Trail return segment.
Yosemite Fall trail
Yosemite Fall trail leading to the top of Yosemite Falls. Stunning views of Upper Yosemite Fall and Yosemite Valley with a handful of excellent viewpoints and lunch spots. The trail to Upper Yosemite Fall is about 3 miles one way, and gaining 3,000 feet in elevation along the way. Once you get to the top of the valley, you can go to Yosemite Fall Overlook, a small plateform near the mouth of Upper Yosemite Fall, to enjoy the the thrilling views of looking down from above. Before hiking the trail, please be sure that your physical condition is fit as it will surely be heart pounding to get to the top. However, the views from the top are simply breathtaking and to get to see where Yosemite Falls starts is a definitely a unique experience. Read my hiker’s guide for Yosemite Falls Trail in Yosemite.
Mirror Lake Trail
Mirror Lake is a small, seasonal lake located on Tenaya Creek in Yosemite National Park. Situated in Tenaya Canyon directly between North Dome and Half Dome, it is the last remnant of a large glacial lake that once filled most of Yosemite Valley at the end of the last Ice Age, and is close to disappearing due to sediment accumulation. The attention is well deserved the always well graded trail takes you past a picture-postcard views of Mount Hood and rugged Tom Dick and Harry Mountain, towering above Mirror Lake. From the trailhead parking area, cross rushing Camp Creek and immediately enter deep forest, crossing Mirror Creek on a second log bridge. The trail soon enters more open woods, then begins a series of switchbacks across open scree slopes that provide interesting views of the Zigzag Valley, far below.
Snow Creek Trail
Snow Creek Falls Trail, located in Tenaya Canyon, is one of the two trails take you up to the top of the north rim from the valley floors other than Upper Yosemite Falls Trail but considerably more difficult for its steepness . The trail head to Snow Creek Trail is located at the northeast of Mirror Lake, about 1 miles away from the entry of the lake. Doug has told me that those who go up to Mirror Lake should go further up the canyon and up Snow Creek Trail for a beautiful experience. The trailhead is one mile away from Mirror Lake and the trail is 2.6 miles long to the top of the canyon from the trailhead. Snow Creek Falls Trail is as steep as Upper Yosemite Falls Trail but considerably narrower. However, unlike Upper Yosemite Falls Trail, you can not see Snow Creek Falls from the trail. Use caution on some parts of the trail for their poor conditions.
