Chakrata (Uttaranchal) is geographically located at latitude (30.7 degrees) 30° 41' 59" North of the Equator and longitude (77.85 degrees) 77° 50' 59" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of the world.
Chakrata is known for its serene environs and polution-free atmosphere , is situated at a distance of 98 kms from Dehradun at an elevation of 7000 feet. The Northen par of Chakrata subdivision provides a fascinating landscape for trekkers and nature lovers . A vast dense forest, dotted with attractive villages of the Jaunsari tribe , the area have the 10,000 ft high peak of kharamba . On its northen slopes is situated Mundali ( 9,000 ft.), where in month of Nov to April skiers can enjoy skiing.
