The journey to Gomukh which is 19 km from Gangotn, starts from here itself. Gomukh is at an altitude of 4,255 m on the foothills of the Bhagirathi range. The whole stretch has to be covered on foot though horses (for both journey's Rs 300), coolies and guides are available. |

Ganges is one of the holiest river in India and its source, a sacred pilgrimage for devout Hindus. The trek follows the Ganges to its source at Gaumukh, this is origin of river Ganges. Legend is that Goddess Ganga descended here from heaven after prolonged penance of King Bhagirath.

Day free to explore the area. One can read, meditate, walk to the base of high peaks and explore high altitude flora and fauna. Evening encounter the most panoramic sunset on high peaks.
