Hawaii is the most recent of the 50 U.S. states, and is the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands. It is the northernmost island group in Polynesia, occupying most of an archipelago in the central Pacific Ocean. Hawaii’s diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, abundance of public beaches and oceanic surrounding, and active volcanoes make it a popular destination for tourists, surfers, biologists, and volcanologists alike. Due to its mid Pacific location, Hawaii has many North American and Asian influences along with its own vibrant native culture. Tourist Attraction in or Near by Hawaii

Pacific Tsunami Museum

The museum provides interactive exhibits, documentaries, and docents to explain the tsunami phenomenon and how it affects us in Hawaii Pacific Tsunami Museum is a museum in Hilo, Hawaii dedicated to the history of the April 1, 1946 Pacific tsunami and the May 23, 1960 Chilean tsunami which devastated much of the east coast of the Big Island, especially Hilo. The museum also has a mission to educate people in general about tsunamis, including the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami.

Pele's Cursed

Pele's Curse is the belief that anything natively Hawaiian, such as sand, rock, or pumice, will effect bad luck on whoever takes it away from Hawaii. We spent a bit of time asking around about what happened to these popular oddities small lava rock samples taken by tourists from the volcano's edge, in spite of warnings that they might carry a curse from the fire goddess Pele when removed from the island. The rocks still show up, months or years later, sent back via US mail to the National Park by mainland visitors experiencing streaks of horrible luck. The letters they arrive with describe businesses and homes lost, marriages shattered, health decimated. Take back this rock.

Snorkelling and Scuba Diving

Snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped tube called a snorkel, and usually swimfins. In cooler waters, a wetsuit may also be worn. Use of this equipment allows the snorkeler to observe underwater attractions for extended periods of time with relatively little effort. Snorkeling is a popular recreational activity, particularly at tropical resort and scuba diving locations. Scuba diving is a form of underwater diving in which a diver uses a scuba set to breathe underwater. Unlike early diving, which relied either on breath hold or on air pumped from the surface, scuba divers carry their own source of breathing gas allowing them greater freedom of movement than with an air line.

Panaewa Rainforest Zoo

Highly suitable for families who are looking for something different to the beaches of the Big Island, the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo is brimming with animal attractions, with close to 100 different types of species. Panaewa Rainforest Zoo is located in Hilo, Hawaii, United States. This small 12 acre zoo is the only one in the United States located in a rainforest. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, established in 1916, is a United States National Park located in the U.S. State of Hawaii on the island of Hawaii. It encompasses two active volcanoes Kilauea, one of the world's most active volcanoes, and Mauna Loa, the world's most massive volcano. The park gives scientists insight into the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and ongoing studies into the processes of vulcanism. For visitors, the park offers dramatic volcanic landscapes as well as glimpses of rare flora and fauna. Volcanic eruptions have created a constantly changing landscape, and the lava flows reveal surprising geological formations. Rare birds and endemic species can be found there, as well as forests of giant ferns.
