The popular Tayrona Park lies at the Caribbean coast near Santa Marta in Colombia. It has some of South America's loveliest coastline. This little, delightful spot is located about 30 minutes from the city of Rodadero, with beautiful beaches, hammocks to rent for the night, food, water and surf (be careful, though; there is a strong riptide - experienced surfers only!). Additionally, you can get a guide to take you to a native village in the nearby mountains. The concession of the Tayrona National Park was created in 1864 and it is located on the Caribbean Coast in the north of Colombia, only 34 km from the city of Santa Marta.

Temperature varies between 25°C and 30°C. Mostly season here are two rainy seasons from may to june and from september to November.

Lost City (Ciudad Perdida)
Ciudad Perdida Lost City is the archaeological site of an ancient city in Sierra Nevada, Colombia. I was with a friend I’d met in Bogota and we’d embarked on a journey to the Caribbean coast of Colombia ending up in the small fishing village of Taganga where we signed up for the trek. Our group was small, around 6 people; however we teamed up with another group most days that had begun the trek at the same time. I took as little as possible with me as I knew I had to carry it myself, we only needed clothes and dry shoes as all the food was provided by the tour company and so were the hammocks that we slept in each night. Ciudad Perdida is reached by crossing forests full of exotic fauna and flora, hanging bridges, mountains, and waterfalls.

Playa Blanca
The holiday resort of Playa Blanca was once little more than a small residential fishing village in the municipal district of Yaiza on the extreme south west coast of Lanzarote. However, the insatiable demand for holiday beds over the last 20 years has seen the village adapt and grow into the purpose built holiday development that we see today. Also an important consideration for families with small children, is that these taxis do not as a rule carry child seats, therefore children may have to sit on their parent's knee for the journey. If this is a cause for concern, we strongly recommend that you make arrangements for a pre-booked taxi to be waiting for you, and clearly specify at the time of booking that a child seat is needed for the journey. Pre-booked taxis are often a little more expensive, although as with all things in life, you only get what you pay for.
